Learning through the arts is an integral part of the educational experience of Nataki Talibah Schoolhouse of Detroit students. There has been a positive correlation between participation in arts education and the academic, social, and experiential growth of our students. The arts are effective in reaching students with distinctive learning styles, and in helping to develop a more disciplined educational environment in which students' energies are directed at learning and creating. The arts make education more engaging - oftentimes, they serve as the vehicle that makes learning interesting to students for the first time. The Music Program includes a school band , a jazz ensemble, and choir which perform twice a year. The Dance Program also has student class performances twice a year. Fifth grade dance classes are showcased in the annual fifth grade theatrical production.
